One of the first acts to grace our stage. The raw combative voice of Jovi, flowing rap by Luja and Hloni & the sweet and clear vocals of Kgomotso moves the audience with an explosion of passion, funk and rhythm. With their music, straight from the ancestors, BCUC wants to question the common worldview on modern Africa. The basic ingredients of BCUC’s sound are the traditional whistle, percussion and a rocking guitar..
Was born during the state of emergency in Bamako (2012), emerging from the meeting of four Malian and one French musician. Their music blends tradition and modernity, acoustic and electric sounds, harmony and trance in what they themselves call trad actual. BKO Quintet’s reputation as a live band is huge, with tens of concerts on all continents.

FRANCOIS VAN COKE
Francois is the lead vocalist, songwriter and founding member of the legendary South African alternative rock bands Fokofpolisiekar and Van Coke Kartel.
Is made up of seven talented and diverse musicians from South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Fronted by the diminutive but dynamic Zolani Mahola, the band exudes a live performance energy that has been the bedrock of their success. Although hailing from diverse backgrounds, between them the band’s members weave a musical magic that is highly infectious and undeniably groovy.
An eclectic, interesting and uniquely South African mix of Folk, Urban-African, Alt-...Rock and Jazz. Loved for their get-up-and-move dance beats as well as strong, groovy hooks that take on a new sonic attitude.
The Good Luck Bar was converted into a dream playground for electro pop lovers when Good Luck had their Johannesburg album launch party.
Michael de Villiers, Renaldo van Dyk, Rynier Prins and Tiaan Erasmus joined by various session musicians perform as a multi-instrumental Bluegrass Folk band. Acoustic guitar, piano, ukulele, upright bass, mandolin, harmonica, clarinet, saxophone, a washboard and a 1935 suitcase promises a unique and creative sound to contemporary and original folk music.
Gunshot Blue is a two piece Gentle Folk Blues act from Johannesburg, South Africa with Pepi Dimevski ( Bloodline ltd, Last Bout) on guitar and Frans Borman ( Jet Black Camaro) on vocals.

A South African legend, André is a musician, singer, songwriter and writer who became famous as part of a group of anti-establishment maverick Afrikaans musicians.
Mapumba’s career has taken him from the Democratic Republic of Congo to the shores of Cape town, spanning 16 years. Like a gatherer he has collected sounds, stories, rhythms, memories and turns them into songs. His voice will inspire you and take you through a bag of emotions full of African flavours.
Singer/songwriter Matthew Mole made South African chart history Monday by becoming the first local artist to enter the iTunes album chart at No 1 with his debut album.
The album, The Home We Built, produced by Matthew Fink (Shadowclub, Tailor, Nakhane Toure), is already attracting keen international interest on both sides of the Atlantic where he has already been chosen as Record Of The Day in the UK and A&R Worldwide’s ‘Artist Of The Week’ in the US.
Nonku Phiri, the daughter of legendary Ray Phiri has one of the most distinctive, influential voices on South Africa’s future electronic music landscape. Nonku’s voice is just as versatile and varied as her performances, and she can comfortably master a range of different genres to suit each of her personas – everything from hip hop to alternative and even rap. Nonku regularly performs with artists like PHFat, Okmalumkoolkat, Crazy White Boy and Bra Sol and Jack Parow.
A legend in the South African music industry, Piet Botha is the frontman of the South African rock band Jack Hammer.

Departing the club scene of Osaka, Japan and as part of the GLB Return from the Unsea line-up Sawagi brought the house down mixing it up with Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, and Electro.

Shortstraw is one of South Africa's favorite Indie Rock Bands. Shortstraw has preformed at GLB on numerous occasions with Mandelapalooza, Booshie Nights and the Happy.Me Tea Party
SPRINGBOK NUDE GIRLS
The Springbok Nude Girls is an alternative rock band, the Nude Girls introduced punk rock, ska, acid jazz and heavy metal into their songs, introducing a new world of music to the youth of South Africa in the early 1990s.In 2000, the band received a South African Music Award for Best Rock Album (Surpass The Powers). The Nude Girls were voted the Best South Africa rock band in a poll conducted by South African radio station 5FM
Josie Field & Laurie Levin grace the GLB stage on more than one occasion to a full house. They have received the South African Music Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album 2016
GoodLuck Bar was the setting for one of the best sold out gigs of 2017. GLB brought the venue and Jägermeister brought the #icecoldshots
