Aerial & Juana – An Argentinian duo that mixes the love of music, jazz and Latin American rhythms. Over the last few years they have performed with some of South Africa's greats.
BBFK short for Barrett, Barke, Falconer & Krull. Extremely accomplished and trained Jazz musicians. They play instrumental blues to move your soul!
Sibusile Xaba carries forth the Maskandi / Mbaqanga tradition of the KwaZulu Natal midlands,. Steeped in the lineage of Zulu guitar giant Madala Kunene & warrior chants of vocal master, Shaluza Max. Sibusile has, for the past few years been mentored by the legendary Dr Philip Tabane (the originator of Malombo music).
Tsepho King is a Joburg born singer, songwriter, and multi-talented instrumentalist. He began his music career in the early 90’s, his versatility and unique way of playing bass has seen him become an in- demand session musician working with such artists as Black Coffee Lira, Siphokazi, Dorothy Masuku, Benjamin Dube, Jabu Hlongwana, Uhuru, Kunle Ayo, Bheki Khoza and the late Vuyo Mokoena.
The Brotherhood jazz quintet is a band comprised of long-time friends who studied music together at Tshwane University. It was formally started by members Lebo Mabe and Malusi Masia as a means to find a platform of expression for their love of Jazz music and to further themselves in its study.
Its musical influences stem from South African Jazz but also gospel, pop, soul and funk as would experience in their compositions. It is an exciting band utilizing the traditional jazz band set up of two and rhythm section made famous in the bebop era and is a treat to the easy going jazz lover.
